Dr. Shiro Chiro
Dr. Shiro Chiro is the visionary founder and lead practitioner at Afya Integrated Wellness and Holistic Clinica. Dr. Chiro is a Certified Medical Examiner with National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, Director of Nursing Programs at Pathway Medical Career College - Lawndale, CA, Certified Legal Nurse Consultant with the Milazzo Institute, and a licensed Chiropractor and Physiotherapist, holding a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Services. She completed her postgraduate education at Columbia Emeritus Institute of Leadership.
As a healthcare professional dedicated to the advancement of her community, serves as Executive Board member of the San Antonio Community Health Center, Executive Board member for the Heart for the City, and Executive Board member of the African Christian Fellowship Los Angeles - Outreach Ministry. And other Kenya Diaspora Saccos. Additionally, she is the designated Provider for Chiropractic Services for Veteran Affairs (VA) in Whittier, CA.
Dr. Chiro has also collaborated with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on infection prevention and outbreak control.
Dr. Chiro is active in several professional organizations, including the Association of International Chiropractors of California and the Chiropractors Association of Kenya. She is also a member of the Whittier Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Chess Club, and volunteers with the Council of African American Parents.
Through her work, Dr. Chiro strives to improve health disparities for all communities. Dr. Chiro has served on several global, medical and chiropractic outreach projects in Bolivia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Kenya. In her most recent medical mission trip, she journeyed to the island of Antigua and Barbuda, and Mexico. She continues her mission locally through her private practice, where she devotes her Saturday mornings as "Walk-In Free" Clinic Hours to serve the broader community. Her holistic and integrated approach aims to treat the whole person by addressing physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
